The Esperanto Society of New England (ESNE) values your membership and invites you to send in your membership dues. Your dues make the activity of the organization possible. What is your organization doing?
New England has among the best Esperanto activities in the country -- maybe in the world. From the Nord-Amerika Somera Kursaro de Esperanto (NASK) in Brattleboro to the Aŭtuna Renkontiĝo de Esperanto (ARE) at Silver Bay in New York, there are great opportunities to learn and practice Esperanto across the region. Starting in 2004, ESNE began offering receptions at NASK and ARE that provides opportunities for local Esperantists to meet visitors from across the country and around the world.
The Esperanto Society of New England provides mechanisms for Esperantists to organize and stay connected. Our newsletter is a forum for the activists to organize and communicate. Our mailing list provides a channel of communication for esperantists across the region. Our newly-redesigned website provides up-to-date information on coming activities and resources for local chapters to advertise their activities. Fostering local chapters is a primary goal of ESNE.
Local groups are probably the most valuable mechanism for enjoying Esperanto: it provides a means to practice and learn the language, but also for visitors to find and make connections while visiting. Little provides as much excitement and satisfaction to an Esperanto group as having a visitor come to town, whether from Paris, France or Paris, New York.
ESNE has suffered from a decline in membership over the past several years. In the past year, I believe the organization has turned around. There has never been a better time to be an esperantist, with the advances in communication technology, the rest of the world is closer than ever before. Join us in keeping ESNE in the business of bringing esperantists together. Please renew your membership today!
