What interests and concerns motivated you to run for Town Office?

Continued advocacy for our community priorities during difficult economic times. Experience in working with many constituencies across political boundaries. Emphasis on reasonable class sizes with opportunities for each student and staff member to find his/her niche and sense of belonging. Effective hiring, support, and evaluation. Efficiencies to focus support on learning for all members of our school community, not just on standardized test scores and reports. Long range planning. Learning for each, achievement for all.

What interests and concerns motivated you to run for Town Meeting?

Need for young family representation. Families that feel strongly connected to Amherst apply their limited time and money to supporting local business and agriculture, public transportation, innovative education, waste reduction, and thoughtful resource planning. Town Meeting service is excellent for learning how things work and how to make effective contributions.
