Today I attended a symposium for Project MEET (Massachusetts Educators Empowered by Technology). It's interesting to see how technology is being employed at the lower educational levels.
The director of my son's preschool gave a presentation. You can find it on the preschool's new website: http://www.umass.edu/preschool/
I often go to conferences where people talk about developing a website. A successful website is organized around the needs of a community. Unless you understand what stakeholders need and how stakeholders will use and extend what's there, its hard to envision how a site will be anything other than a sterile snapshot.
I left to go to the Biology Department's luncheon for graduates. Graduates say that the job market is good and they seem enthusiastic about future opportunities. Its a little incongruous with the faculty, who see nothing but doom and gloom on the horizon.
