I decided the other day to write some "peace haiku" as a counterpoint to the the antiwar haiku I've been writing.

malhela cxambro
kusxe fil' ade spiras
ankoraux vivas

(A dark room; my son breathing steadily; still alive)

miaj infanoj
ridetas, saltas, ludas...
tutplenaj je viv'

(My children; smiling, hopping, playing...; brimming with life)

mi kaptas filon
kaj tenas lin proksime
cxevala sango!

(I catch my son; and hold him close; pony blood!)

I learned recently that our local haiku group is holding a reading at our local Barnes and Noble on Saturday April 12th at 1pm. I haven't been particularly active in the group, but the group seems happy to have me. A chapbook is about to be published, which is to include a few of my haiku. I've been encouraging the group to set up a website and/or mailing list, but the interest has been muted so far. And it's not like I need another project to maintain.
