A couple of weeks ago, Charlie mentioned that he had noticed
that he could defocus his eyes and I mentioned that if he
could do that, he could probably learn to see stereoscopic
pictures without a viewer. 
This site
has some nice pictures that are easy to view -- the pictures are small and relatively easy to merge. Charlie can almost do it.
