This morning I had a bagel for breakfast and then went to Kelly's for 
second breakfast with Randy. The pace here is starting to gather steam in anticipation of classes beginning. In recent days, I've been having lunch with people, touching base to get ready for the fall. There is still a lot to do.
I was pleased to see that someone is keeping track of how the Bush administration is distorting science for political considerations. Given that the Bush administration was willing to distort the evidence to bolster the case for going to war, perhaps it shouldn't be surprising when they do the same to support their political positions regarding global warming, oil exploration, and sex education. Where is the media? Where is the outrage? Would you want a doctor who would only tell you the "politically acceptable" treatment options? Would you hire someone who intentionally witheld details of their employment history? What would you do if an employee was demonstrably misleading you?
