I've been spending the weekend quietly reading at home. At the library yesterday, I found a new author to read. I checked out and read Skyfall by Catherine Asaro. I almost didn't check it out when I read the first review on the back (which was positive, but then noticed it was from the Romantic Times. But I couldn't anything else interesting, so I grabbed it and took it home. It was good -- very readable. Best of all, this is the prequel of a whole series of books! With another 9 or 10 books in the series, I'll have stuff to read for days! Before I read those, however, I'll have to finish Charlie Wilson's War, which Lucy suggested I read. Reading it is rather like staring into a cesspool: ugly but fascinating to see how things actually work. I'm about half-done with it.
On Friday Alisa and I re-watched The Fellowship of the Ring. I realized there was something familiar about the actor who plays Elrond, but I hadn't made the connection before that it was the same guy who plays Agent Smith. Once Alisa pointed it out, I kept wanting him say things like "Welcome to Rivendell ... Mr. Anderson."
