Classes start on Wednesday, so people are running around trying to get ready for the enslaught. I'm getting there in terms of preparedness too but, after all, I don't have to teach until Thursday.
Back in August, I wrote a piece about the problems with ESNE intended for publication in Verda Lumo, the semi-yearly publication of ESNE. But, although the editor said he was looking for something, it wasn't published. A couple of weeks ago, the editor decided he would publish it, but he interspersed critical comments throughout it. I asked him to remove them, which he did, and now it seems it will appear in print. I predict that means that it will get read by two people who didn't read it before. Whoopee. In a fit of insanity, I allowed my name to be put forward as Prezidanto de ESNE, so maybe next year it will be my problem.
This looks like an SNL commercial that didn't quite make it. I don't know why not -- it's hysterical. I particularly liked Number 4.
