This morning Buzz and I met to put the finishing touches on our course. The course officially begins on Monday. Today we discussed the feedback we'd gotten at the critique, made a few last decisions, and cleaned up a few inconsistencies in labeling we had found. We may need to make a few adjustments, but it looks to me like we're ready to roll. I'm excited because I think it's going to be a great experience for the students.

After lunch, I drove home on the back roads with the sunroof open. It was a beautiful day. I frittered it away, though, playing Starcraft with Phil and playing video games with the boys. I've needed some unstructured time to just relax, though. I've been way too "on" ever since I left for Germany.

Somehow this year has been my year to get involved with service. First, I became secretary of the local dems, then president of ESNE, and now chair of FSUC&ECC. Luckily, I have excellent people helping me on all sides, so none of it has become overwhelming -- so far. Next week, though, I have to meet with the rules committee and then the following week I have to present a report to the faculty senate.
