I was supposed to do my grading yesterday during the snowstorm, but I couldn't do it with all the distractions, so I spent the whole morning grading papers. I hate grading: I liked all of the students projects and would like to simply give them all credit for doing what they did. At the same time, I can see room for improvement in all of the papers. I end up just gritting my teeth and putting down what I honestly think of each component in the rubric. Mostly. When you hand out the first grades, though, the honeymoon is over.

We spent the class today going over the critiques they'd written and my comments on how to improve their papers. I should probably write up my observations -- but not now.

Tomorrow I head out for San Francisco.
