Cats are Democrats, Dogs are Republicans outside their office downstairs. I wanted the show the cartoon to someone so I found it on-line and then looked some of the others. There are a bunch that are just excellent commentary. I particularly liked this view of Democrats as obstructionists. I've been disappointed that the Democrats have succeeded in presenting themselves primarily as "Republican-Lite" for the past 10 years. The Dems need to be more than a speed bump. Maybe Howard can get 'em straightened out.
Today I wore a tie because I'm to present two motions to the faculty senate. I don't wear a tie normally, although it doesn't really bother me much. I actually wear the tie more for myself than for the audience -- it makes me feel a bit more presentable and gives me a little added confidence. It doesn't seem onerous to wear a tie when you do it for yourself.
