I feel like I'm trying to keep too many balls in the air -- I'm constantly having to switch gears while I talk to people about this project or that project. In no particular order, the Biology Department is conducting a review, my two faculty senate committees have on-going projects, I need to apply for an award, I'd like to apply for a grant, I'm trying to draft a proposal to develop an open learning environment in the Department, I'm trying to get xgrid blast running using the BCRC and Intro Labs as a cluster (and it's not working), my class has their projects due this week, we just set up a new fish tank in the BCRC, I've been asked to serve as a delegate at the MTA annual meeting, I'm trying to plan the ESNE Jarkunveno, we're trying finalize the ESNE newsletter (that should have gone out in December), and I'd really like to organize the first annual Biology Department Chili Cookoff. Those, plus the usual every 20 minute interruptions with people asking about one thing and another. I feel like I'm thrashing (spending more time swapping than doing useful work).
