Today I attended the ESNE Jarkunveno. ESNE offers two receptions and has two meetings each year. The December meeting is the Zamenhof Vespero, which is a celebration of the "initiator" of Esperanto. The spring Jarkunveno is a business meeting. It's a chance to check on the organization structure and make sure the organization is on a solid footing. Most of the officers came and offered their reports. Afterwards, we had a spirited discussion about how to advance the organization across the region. We came up with a variety of potential activities -- enough to keep us busy for a while.
Boingboing references a bit of overheard zen in the subway. Alisa and the boys had a better example when they overheard someone say, "Youse got to use good grammar, like I does."
