I attended graduation ceremonies on Saturday and Sunday. I'm glad to do it because I think it is important for the faculty to show their support for their students and for the institution. I'm always kind of surprised at how few faculty attend.

We went to see Revenge of the Sith this afternoon. I thought it was as good (or as bad) as the rest of the Star Wars saga. Predictable and with heavy-handed moralistic dialog, but still good entertainment.

I spent some more time hacking on the salut-leteroj script. I'm frustrated with pdflib, or at least with how it's installed on the esne.net server. I haven't been able to get it to use unicode to produce the proper diacritical marks. I was able to get it to use iso-8859-3 and to produce the appropriate characters -- sort of. When I do that, I have to add an extra space after the characters because the spacing isn't right. And the characters don't show up when I use Acrobat on the Mac. They look perfect in Preview. Frustrating.
